Jim Connett Program/Development Director for KFUO-FM is on the board of directors for a Hope Happens, a activist group that is pushing for Embryonic Stem Cell Research (aka destroying human embryos in order to harvest stem cells for research).
Connett's activism flies directly in the face of the LCMS's pro-life stand and in light of the fact that Todd Wilken and Issues Etc. had an amazing pro-life record this makes us believe that there is something terribly wrong at KFUO and in the Missiouri Synod.

Doesn't surprise me in the least. The LCMS is now fully heterodox as are a goodly portion of its members. The fully confessional Lutherans are now in the vast minority.

I've seen some arguments out there, that this shouldn't matter because KFUO-FM is the "secular" side of KFUO. But, by going on their website, from what I see, are not both the AM and FM supported by the LCMS!? If this is true, then what the heck are people who don't support LCMS stances doing in positions which serve the LCMS? It just doesn't add up or make sense.
Especially throwing a pro-embryonic stem cell stance into the mix.
I'll admit- the pro-embryonic stem cell stance really threw me off the rocker. I'm only in college, but am becoming more and more disheartened to find things like this out.

Correction-positions which serve God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit first and foremost, not the LCMS.

If I remember rightly, the FM station, the secular side so to speak, was supposed to be generating funds to help support the AM side, or the ministry side of the equation. From all accounts, it is the AM station, mostly because of Issues Etc, that was propping up the FM side.
One of the problems seems to be that we have both station management & synodical management who don't really understand radio & also don't understand the new technology & how that's affecting traditional forms of media. Having the AM station be the flagship for promoting synodical ministries was nice, 30 or 40 years ago, when AM radio was big. Now, FM is where it's at, both in terms of licenses & frequencies.
And even FM isn't doing as well as it used to do. Alternate forms of media like satellite radio & ipods & mp3 players in cars are taking a bite out of its market. Just like the Internet is affecting print media & even television to some extent. Just look at the last writers' strike. In the days when there were only 3 or 4 tv channels, it would've been big news. Now, hardly anybody cared, because there's so much more out there now.
It's not that there was really a problem with the programming on our synodical stations, except for classical on the FM (Nobody listens to a classical station; just watch WKRP In Cincinnati to find out why). The problem with KFUO is management, which is probably why the Board for Communications Services gave a vote of no confidence to KFUO management last year & fired both station managers, who mysteriously kept their jobs.
